The Good And Bad Of Early Marriage

It is the dream of most girls to be married to the love of their life. However, making the decision to officially tying the knot can be very difficult and involve a lot of pressure and drama. Do you ever feel as though you’re too young to be married but at the same time, you feel like your significant other is “The One”? Well, marriage is a big part of two person’s life and that’s why you need to be really sure before you commit yourself.

Here are some of the good and bad things about getting married early.

The Good

Getting married at a young age would mean being able to experience many things for the first time together. Some of these include getting your first car or first house together. This can help young couples bond and grow a lot closer. Early marriage helps a couple shape up each other in their careers and that makes it easier to work towards a common goal.

People tend to expect more from their other half once they’re married. But getting married young would be different as there will be very little expectations as you might not be matured enough to know what to expect. In early marriages, the bar is set low and you will have a more fulfilled married life. It is also easier for you to accept your partner’s flaws as you have no expectations.

One of the biggest pros of getting married early is saving yourself for your one and only. You save yourself from less drama and heartbreaks in the past for dating the wrong people. You’ll have fewer exes and will waste less time on someone else. If you think you’ve found the right person, save yourself from the embarrassment of hooking up with the wrong person.

It’s vital to understand your significant other’s wants and needs then learn to compromise for them. In married life, things like compromise, sacrifice and commitment are very important. Marrying at a young age would be easier to adopt new changes and accept new people in life without finding fault.

There is plenty of time when you’re married early. You won’t have to worry about rushing to have a baby before you’re too old for one. Things can be taken slowly as you settle down before thinking about having children as you’ll still be young enough to conceive.

The best thing about early marriage is that you get to watch each other grow. You’ll witness each other grow from being childish youngsters to mature adults and then grow old together. Then after that, raising your children together and watching your grandchildren grow is what makes your bond stronger.

The Bad

This will always be a problem for young couples. Because of that, dream jobs are often given up on in order to get a practical job that pays the most. Pursuing your passion will be the last thing on your list as you may work towards earning enough for you and your other half to afford a home of your own.

When you’re young, that’s the time to have the most fun but that won’t be possible if you’re married as you’ll have too many responsibilities. You’ll have to be willing to sacrifice your dreams as you get married early. Marriage comes with huge responsibilities and you’re going to have to be ready for all of that.

Once you’re married, that would mean saying goodbye to your dating days. There will be no more chances to date other people. No more exciting first dates or learning from your mistakes any longer as you are now committed to only one person. Hence, it is good to experience a good number of breakups before marriage for you to appreciate your partner more.

You can no longer do anything you want as you like as you will have to think of your other half before you do so. It would also mean a lot of sacrificing has to be done in order for your family to get what they need. You may get to spend some time with your friends but you’ll never be completely free when you’re married.

Being so young, you might find yourself having countless silly fights over petty matters. These fights can cause conflict and distance to emerge between the two of you. Love makes people blind and you may not be aware of actual problems that you can face while making an immature decision.

One of the main cons of early marriage is the difficulty when it comes to raising children. Young couples may feel the pressure too much when they have to balance between work, social life, love life and their children. This can make them become bad parents without a choice as they won’t be able to spend much time with the children.
