Singapore Budget 2025: Here Are Benefits for Your and Your Family

In February 2025, Prime Minister and Minister for Finance Lawrence Wong unveiled Singapore’s Budget 2025, introducing a series of measures aimed at supporting citizens amidst global economic uncertainties.

The budget focuses on alleviating living costs, enhancing social support, and commemorating Singapore’s 60th year of independence.

Support for Singaporeans

To address the rising cost of living, the government has enhanced several assistance schemes.

These help every Singaporean including married couples and parents with families.

U-Save Rebates

Designed to offset utilities expenses for eligible HDB households, the U-Save rebates will be disbursed in April, July, October 2025, and January 2026, with amounts ranging from S$110 to S$190 per disbursement.

Climate Vouchers

Initially introduced to promote energy-efficient appliances, the Climate Vouchers have been increased to S$400 and extended to all Singaporean households, including those in private properties. HDB households will receive an additional S$100 top-up.

Service and Conservancy Charges (S&CC) Rebate

To assist with municipal service fees, eligible households will receive rebates equivalent to 0.5 or 1 month of S&CC in April, July, October 2025, and 0.5 month in January 2026.

Community Development Council (CDC) Vouchers

A new initiative providing S$500 in May 2025 and an additional S$300 in January 2026 to all Singaporean households, aimed at supporting local businesses and easing daily expenses.

SG60 Commemorative Initiatives

In celebration of Singapore’s 60th anniversary, the Singaporean government is boosting the SG60 package.

It now includes the following benefits and vouchers that any qualified Singaporean can use.

SG60 Vouchers

Disbursed in July 2025, these vouchers amount to S$600 for Singaporeans aged 21 to 59, and S$800 for those aged 60 and above.

They can be used at participating supermarkets, heartland merchants, and hawkers, with an expiration date of 31 December 2026.

SG60 ActiveSG Credit Top-Up

All ActiveSG members will receive a S$100 credit in June 2025 to encourage participation in sports and wellness activities.

SG Culture Pass

A S$100 pass provided in September 2025 to Singaporeans aged 18 and above, promoting engagement with local arts and cultural events.

Support for Families

Recognising the importance of family support, the budget is introducing adjustments to existing top-ups and other benefits for education, healthcare and child-rearing.

Here’s how the Budget 2025 is helping further support the growth and wellbeing of Singaporean families.

Child LifeSG Credits

A S$500 credit for all Singaporean children aged 12 and below, disbursed in July 2025, to support early development needs.

Edusave Account/Post-Secondary Education Account (PSEA) Top-Up

Singaporean children aged 13 to 20 will receive a S$500 top-up in July 2025 to assist with educational expenses.

Large Family LifeSG Credits

Families with a third or subsequent child aged 1 to 6 will receive S$1,000 annually starting September 2025, supporting larger families in managing child-rearing costs.

Enhanced Child Development Account (CDA) First Step Grant

An additional S$5,000 for each third and subsequent child born from 18 February 2025, encouraging family growth.

Large Family MediSave Grant

Mothers will receive S$5,000 in their MediSave accounts for each third and subsequent child born from 18 February 2025, aiding in healthcare expenses.

Healthcare Support

The Singaporean government is also pushing for more funding and financial assistance to support healthcare in the country.

The communities that will benefit from this include senior citizens who can use the financial aid to support their costly medical expenses.

MediSave Top-Ups

In July 2025, Singaporeans aged 65 and above will receive between S$150 to S$450, depending on their income levels, to support medical expenses.

Additional MediSave Bonus

Individuals born between 1950 and 1973 with lower MediSave balances will receive a S$500 bonus in July 2025, enhancing their healthcare savings.

Financial Assistance

The Singaporean government is also providing immediate financial relief to ease the rising cost of living.

Here are some of the monetary benefits that you and your family can claim for daily expenses, as well as one-off payments for those qualified.

GST Voucher (GSTV) – Cash

Eligible lower- and middle-income Singaporeans aged 21 and above will receive S$450 or S$850 in August 2025, assisting with daily expenses.

Assurance Package (AP) – Cash

A one-time cash payment ranging from S$100 to S$600 will be disbursed in December 2025 to all Singaporeans aged 21 and above, cushioning the impact of the GST rate increase.

Personal Income Tax Rebate

For the Year of Assessment 2025, all tax residents will enjoy a 60% rebate on tax payable, capped at S$200, reducing the tax burden on individuals.
