Raising a child can be a hassle, but when we think about it, it is something that we will cherish seeing our child grow up into a person they want to be. Do you know that there are ways for you to actually nail this so-called parenting game?

Being a parent is not about being strict and stern with your kids all the time. It will make them feel annoyed at you for doing such. To successfully raising your kids, it is advisable for you to use an effective teaching method, as well as the pouring them the affection and loves all the time. Pamper them with loves instead of things and materials. That way will make your kid loves and respects you as well. Other than that, teaching them to respect the boundaries you set for them while giving them time to learn, grow and have fun is also important. Below are some ideas on how to be the best at parenting game:

Be Flexible While Setting Some Boundaries

To raise different age of kids is to have a different approach in each one of them. You can’t expect to treat your teen the same as you treat your toddler. Each of them has different needs and different ways to understand. So, while giving your flexibility in them, you need to somehow set boundaries as there are things they can and cannot do. If you were only giving them all your flexibility and not setting any limits, your kids might think that what they do will be tolerable for you to accept.

Apart from that, you must not do the things you wouldn’t want your kids to do. For instance, when you said no phone while having your lunch or dinner at the table. You should also obey that rule and not just your kids. Always walk the talk and be an excellent example for your kids. Kids do as you do, so make sure to remind yourself as well!

Learn From Mistakes While Instil Independence

Nobody can run from making mistakes. What we can do is to learn from it. Mistakes are there for us to learn; let’s not dwell on those mistakes. Teach your kids the same thing. Tell them that it is okay to make mistakes, guide them on how to learn from it and what they should do if they ever stumble upon it again in the future.

Making mistakes doesn’t mean that it is incapable of us to be independent. In fact, from those mistakes, we learn to be more responsible and independent in our actions. We act accordingly to what we suppose to do. We should instil that behaviour in our kids, so they will grow up to be better at handling things in the most responsible way.

Show Empathy While Giving Unconditional Love

We are likely aware that our kids will react to things in the most exaggerated way as possible (and most of us often choose to just ignore it). Actually, for younger kids or toddlers, small things are considered big things to them as they never handle such situations before. Thus, they exaggerate or rant it out loud.

To acknowledge how our toddlers are feelings helps them learn about those emotions and to find solutions for such feelings. As a parent, showing that you are interested in what they are doing can ensure their love and respect towards you as well. At times, you have to please them to get a ticket to their heart. For every mistake or misbehave that they do, don’t always punish them directly. Instead, teach them how to understand it and tell them that you still love them despite all their wrongdoings. This way, your kids will learn about the mistake, respect and love all at once.
